Founder

With a passion for the outdoors and business Ron founded The Outside Group Inc in 1999.

My purpose has always been to represent premium brands in the outdoor and sporting goods industry.  Brands that reflect my personal values and brands that that strive to do better for the user and the planet.

When I am not working in market you can find me in the backcountry of British Columbia hiking, biking our backcountry skiing.

Skiing

Growing up in a small mnt town gives you the base for skiing of all types, XC,Alpine and touring.  I cut my teeth on slow lifts and cold winters and living from the tailgate of many parking lots and trail heads.

The hardest days I have ever spent were on a bike suffering, also the best time for shaping a strong work ethic.

Our emotional support and spiritual king of play.  Murphy enjoys long walks and short swims, biking with dad.  Daily duties include greeting couriers at the office and keeping the feet warm of clients that arrive at our office for a few hours line presentations.

Murphy can often be found on single track trails enjoying a much needed trail run at the end of a long day at the office.

As the CFG (Chief Fluffy Greeter) at The Outside Group. Alpine’s prime responsibility is to announce all visitors at the showroom and make them feel welcome. He’s great at bringing a smile to everyone’s face and makes sure they go home with a few strands of white fur on their clothes.

Part of The Outside Group since 2015, Rob has an extensive alpine ski backgroundas a bootfitter, freestyle ski coach, race crew member at Beaver Valley Ski Club and as a competitivefreeskiing judge on the FIS World Cup. During the summer months, Rob can be found on the road or in the woods on his bike.

Rob’s love for the outdoors began at a young age spending time on the water at the family cottage in Eastern Ontario and it all expanded from there.
